Our school was a busy hive of activity today as we celebrated World Book Day!
The "Footy and Booky" quiz run by the National Literacy Trust proved a popular activity in some classes this morning. Other classes were busy writing book reviews, making bookmarks and undertaking interviews to discover which authors and books their friends preferred to read.
At 12 noon the entire school fell silent for 15 minutes as all pupils and staff took the opportunity to relax for some D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) time!
Everyone enjoyed reading their books in their own unique way-some curled up on a comfy cushion or blanket, others found a sunny spot outside while others happily tucked themselves up in the Sensory Pod!
Mr Flood even managed to find a quiet corner where he enjoyed reading his favourite comic-The Beano!
Thanks to everyone for participating in such a positive way-it's clear that we all love our books in St Brigid's!📚📚
