We had an extra special day on February 1st as we celebrated and honoured our very important Patron and School Saint- St Brigid!
Being the 1,500th anniversary of St Brigid, we made sure to celebrate her in a really special way!
Fr Dónal joined us for our Prayer service in the hall and lots of boys were involved in the reading of prayers, stories and the history surrounding the churches and schools that are named in her honour. Gifts were also offered up symbolising our school's connection with St Brigid.
Fr Dónal blessed the St Brigid's crosses beautifully made by our Junior Infants under the guidance of our 6th class boys. These crosses will be given to the Grandparents of the Junior Infant boys when they visit the school next week.
🌾A very happy St Brigid's Day to all!🌷
