Today was the 100th day of school this year. We celebrated throughout the day with loads of activities based on the number 100.
We started the day with some STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities. Each team moved to stations with 100 various objects which they used to co-operatively build or create something. The boys were very imaginative and built pyramids from plastic cups, a library from cubes, bridges from lollipop sticks, a beach from tangrams and lots more.
During Maths, we showed off that we could write the numbers 1 - 100. We had a race to "roll to 100" by rolling a dice and colouring the number of squares shown on the dice. We finished off by highlighting the numeral 100 hiding among other numbers.
For PE, we ran in the yard for 100 seconds and then did 10 reps of 10 different exercises which amounted to 100! Even our GoNoodle movement break was 100 themed.
We finished the day by doing some fun activities such as choosing 10 colours and colouring 10 circles with each colour, completing a monster by drawing 10 body parts 10 times and filling 10 circles with 10 shapes in each. We also made ourselves some crowns to mark the occasion!
Congratulations on being 100 days smarter boys!
