Our newly elected Green School Committee have been extremely busy since they took over their new roles in early October.
As we continue working towards our Travel flag this year, the committee are keen to reduce carbon emissions in the area around our school and have initiated the No Idling promise during drop off and collection times as well as increased effort to walk, scoot or cycle to school. They have also been very fortunate to have a visit from our local Green School officer, Lorraine Flanagan, who guided them on a safety audit of our local area and are currently investigating how the student body can encourage the local County Council and Safe Routes to support us in making our community a safer place for all.
Funds raised from our last uniform sale and recent Halloween costume sale is being used to purchase new signage for our school and we are delighted with the new parking bollards on Mart Lane as well as the scooter and bike sheds installed recently.
