D.E.A.R. Time – Drop Everything And Read
Today the boys took part in our monthly D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) Time, a wonderful opportunity for everyone to pause, relax, and enjoy the magic of reading. 📚✨
All around the school, boys were happily absorbed in a wide variety of books – from novels and factual books to comic strip adventures and for a little while the whole school fell beautifully silent as everyone lost themselves in reading.
D.E.A.R. time helps foster a lifelong love of books, encourages focus and imagination, and gives the boys a chance to build calm, positive reading habits in a shared school-wide experience.
Today, one very lucky class also received a surprise visit from Kai, our school therapy dog, as part of the weekly Principal’s Prize Draw! 🐾 The boys in Ms McNerney’s 1st class were kind, gentle, and so welcoming to Kai. He absolutely loved his time listening to stories and soaking up all the pats. He’s already looking forward to visiting another class during our next D.E.A.R. session!
Thank you for encouraging the joy of reading at home too. Together, we’re helping to grow curious minds and happy readers. 📚✨
