Our Senior Gaelic Football Team finished their campaign with a fine performance and victory against Ballyroan BNS in Cornelscourt. The boys won with a score of 8-15 to 7-7, where both teams played some fast, flowing football, with some fine individual and team moments showcased throughout the encounter.
The boys lost narrowly to Hollypark BNS in their first group game in Meadowvale, as a last minute goal from the opposition sank the team to a 2 point defeat. Bishop Galvin NS proved to be too strong of an opponent in the second game, as they showed their quality to run out comfortable winners, albeit withstanding a spirited performance from our own boys again.
We would like to thank Mr. Neary and Mr. Melia for coaching the boys this year, and to Ms. Sheehy and Ms. O'Neill for helping out on game days.
The squad for this year was a follows; Hugo Breslin, John Donnelly, Bobby Hand, Ben Keogh, Jake Keenan, Bobby Smith, Ryan Brennan, Cillian Beirne, David Saracuta, Senan Skelton, Mark O'Leary, Ben O'Beirne, Ben Plunkett, Sam Kennedy, Adam Brown, Sean Mee, Elliott Tighe, Brody Mahon, Evan Coffey, Rory Duggan, Kevin O'Shea, Oisin McDonald and Nathan Magee.
Sam Kennedy was captain for the team, whilst Mark O'Leary was vice-captain.
Well done to all of the boys involved, and best of luck to our Junior A and B teams who will round off their campaigns next week also.
