Charcoal Crows

Creating Creepy Corvoids in Charcoal
23-October-18
Charcoal Crows

The boys in Mr. Duignan's sixth class experimented with new drawing techniques and materials in this week's art class.

They studied different methods of shading their drawings such as hatching, contouring and stippling to give depth to their work.

A new medium - charcoal - was introduced and a suitably spooky stimulus, a charcoal drawing of a crow sitting ominously in a tree, was their basis for experimentation.

The boys created some beautiful works and are now ready to create their own charcoal originals.
